This assignment aims to show how Vodafone operates as a business and relates to its stakeholders. It also examines how Vodafone responds to the economic, social, and global factors that affect its performance and strategy. By analyzing these aspects, this assignment will provide a comprehensive overview of Vodafone's goals, challenges, and opportunities.
Vodafone, a leading telecommunication company in the UK, was established in 1982. It has the highest market capitalization and brand value among its competitors in the UK. Headquartered in Newbury, the company provides a wide range of telecommunication services such as; mobile telecommunication networks, mobile internet services, and enterprise applications among others. The company operates in over 30 countries with at least 300 million customers globally and 18 million UK mobile customers.
With a strong presence in 13 European countries, the telecommunications giant offers a wide range of services to its customers. It has 27 million fixed broadband customers, 116.3 million mobile customers (including 31 million in Germany and 18 million in Italy), and 22 million TV customers. It is the leading converged operator in Europe, providing integrated solutions for communication and entertainment.
The global telecoms firm reported a modest increase in its total revenue for the year ended 31 March 2023, reaching €45.7 billion. This represents a 0.4% growth from the previous year's revenue of €45.5 billion and a 4.3% growth from the revenue of €43.8 billion in 2021. The firm attributed its revenue performance to its strong customer base and diversified portfolio of services.
