1.0 INTRODUCTION
Human Resource Management is the approach used in procuring, developing, and maintaining a highly skilled workforce so as to effectively attain the goals of an organization. HRM is significant to organizations because it helps them in retaining their best employees who play a part in organizational development. Therefore organizations whose aim is to maintain their competitive advantage in the current times and in the future need manpower that is well acquainted with current skills and technologies to approach change and difficulties that might come their way. Companies currently face multiple demands such as accelerating globalization, stiff competition, recurrent advances in technology, and changes in methods of working among others. Modern Human Resource Management comprises of the basic areas of HRM such as strategic planning, recruitment, and selection of potential employees, as well as others such as performance appraisal, training, and development. However Modern HRM majorly centers on gentle techniques like improving employee satisfaction, reinforcing team spirit, and stopping conflict among others. The following sections of this paper are going to discuss the challenges that affect modern Human Resource Management and potential strategies which may be used to overcome them.
