Biotherapeutics has especially been the fastest-growing sector in the pharmaceutical industry, with an annual growth of over 8%. As of 2020, industry revenue reached USD $325.17 billion, a very fast growth considering that it was worth $163 billion in 2017. This growth has been boosted by the safety and effectiveness of company products as well as their ability to treat diseases that were historically considered incurable
With total funding of $14.1 million, the company has continued to gain recognition in the field through its innovations. As of 2021, Virion Therapeutics LLC was working on developing VRON-0200, a therapeutic vaccine for chronic HBV infections.
