Founded in 1995, BYD Company Limited is a high-tech company that operates in the development of technological innovations for a better life for individuals. The company engages in the manufacture, research, and development of rechargeable batteries and photovoltaic business. It has its headquarters in China. The company has been a global leader in industrial park development since its formation, with more than 30 projects across various sectors, including electronics, automotive, renewable energy, and rail transportation.
In 2020, the company had the highest sales volume of new energy vehicles in China. BYD is ranked among the leading energy vehicle sellers. As of September 2023, the company has a market capitalization of $96.20 Billion which makes it one of the most valuable companies in the world. As of 2023, the company raised revenue of $69.10 billion up from $62.14 billion in 2022 and $33.48 billion in 2021.
The aim of this paper is to examine the current situation of BYD, a leading Chinese manufacturer of electric vehicles and batteries. The paper will use the SWOT and PEST frameworks to evaluate BYD's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, as well as the political, economic, social, and technological factors that affect its business environment. The paper will also provide a forecast of BYD's future development based on the analysis.
