Therefore, considering all the above definitions, management is the procedure that enables an organization to set and achieve its objective by planning, organizing, and controlling its resources, including attaining the commitment of its employees.
An organization is a group of people who work together to achieve a common goal or purpose. Organizations can have different structures, cultures, and functions, depending on their objectives, resources, and environment. Organizations can be classified into various types, such as for-profit, non-profit, governmental, or non-governmental. Organizations can also be distinguished by their size, scope, industry, or sector. Organizations, therefore, provide an avenue for working with others so as to achieve set goals and objectives.
In construction companies, managers are required to possess the necessary knowledge and skills that will enable them to effectively manage the people, the activities to be carried out, and the technology to be used plus the external factors that affect the industry. The construction industry like any other industry largely depends on its workforce.
