1.0 INTRODUCTION
Important to consider is that organizational culture has a strong impact on the management of an organization, therefore the stronger the organizational culture, the easier it gets for employees to accept its values. Organizational culture is defined as the company's beliefs, values, and attitudes, and how these factors affect the behavior of employees and customers, it can also be defined to mean the basic assumptions and beliefs shared within an organization.
The importance of organizational culture in the strategic management of a business is that it is one way by which it can sustain itself. This assignment is going to look at the management’s role in developing and maintaining Organization’s Culture
A number of factors influence the development of organizational culture and these include:
⦁ Organizational structure is simply how certain activities are run or administered in an organization
⦁ Organizational behavior and employee’s attitudes towards work is how employees interact with one another in the organization and how these interactions in turn contribute to organizational performance
⦁ The organization’s principles and conducts
⦁ Management and leadership techniques embraced by the business.
Below are some of the roles that management plays in developing the organizational structure of a business.
1. They have the duty to proficiently predict, explain and manage organizational behavior. Managers must be able to determine the various factors that lead to their employees being satisfied and motivated at the workplace so as to diffuse these factors and increase their motivation and satisfaction.
2. Managers have to clearly analyze and understand the behavior of individuals, groups, and organizations so as effectively manage them. Organizational Behavior can be observed at three levels namely; individual, group, and organization as a whole.
3. Management’s responsibility in developing organizational culture is to efficiently improve and implement management principles.
